We are a nongovernmental aid organization that offers assistance to Guatemala which has endured a thirty-six-year civil war.

We gathered to transmit hope and courage to the Guatemalan children who have lost their parents during the civil war, nowadays are traumatized and reduced to poverty.

The purpose of our association is not to interfere in the Guatemalan civil war. We are just an association willing to offer solidarity.

Signing peace, Guatemala put an end to the thirty-six-year civil war on December 29th, 1996. Soon after, on January 15th, 1997, thanks to Ms. Yoko Ito’s promotion action, the organization was founded by Mr. Takeshi Sugiyama, its president and Mr. Takayoshi Sakuma, the honorable president (nowadays mayor of Ichibarashi city at Chiba prefecture).
In 2008, a dream came true: a primary school was built at Chiul hamlet, Quiche department, Guatemala.
Nowadays, our efforts are aimed to build a second school. We count on the contribution of 300 members from Japan and other countries.

 List of the present contributions
1998 Assistance was offered to some evacuees suffering damages due to “Mitch” hurricane.
2001 A 1,000-dollar contribution to Faces Foundation (support to mentally disabled young people).
2002

Meeting with “Covinagua”, an organization of widows who lost their husbands during the civil war. They were given a 360-dollar contribution.

2008 A primary school was built (Chiul hamlet, Quiche department, Guatemala).
2009 Visit to the primary school built in 2008 (a school equipment contribution was delivered).

CASA BLANCA is willing to incorporate new members to the organization. All non Japanese members should pay a fee of 10 dollars a year.
